Bufab-Audrius-Janusonis
Former trainee

Audrius Janusonis

Global Project & Performance Office Manager

The trainee program has put me on a challenging but steep career development. Since completing the traineeship I have held multiple positions at a few locations, taken on many tasks and met with an enormous amount of Bufab colleagues.

What have you studied?

I have studied MSc in International Business & Trade at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg (Handelshögskolan Göteborg).

What is your best experience from the trainee program?

I found that the most valuable part of the trainee program has been the hands-on work in different processes from Sales and Purchase to Warehouse operations. After some time, it all has summed up in a broad understanding and some hands-on experience of how Bufab processes looks like. It also gave a most needed dive into Bufab’s values, which are represented by people and their attitude towards what they do every day.

Please describe your career at Bufab after the trainee program

The trainee program has put me on a challenging but steep career development. Since completing the traineeship I have held multiple positions at a few locations, taken on many tasks and met with an enormous amount of Bufab colleagues. I have had an amazing opportunity to join local Bufab team in fast growing market as an account manager. Being part of a small team in a fast-paced market with demanding customers requires you to excel rapidly.

I have surely tried my best and thankfully to the team I have been exposed to many processes and built good customer relationship during two intense years.

Soon after, I joined the Global Supply Chain team, initially as a project leader within Global Logistics, and later as Manager of Global Logistics Department. I have had much pleasure taking part in projects such as the ERP rollout, operational best practice development, starting a BI function, and more.

I continue to expand my knowledge and especially connect with more and more Bufab colleagues – the relationships that I value the most. In general, every year at Bufab has been extremely fast-paced with quickly maturing processes and organization, which has allowed me to continuously take on new tasks and challenges on a yearly if not quarterly basis – something that really has resulted in quick knowledge and skill build-up. Today my team and I are focusing on building best practice and a toolkit for project and performance management – yet another sign that Bufab has evolved and developed since I started almost 10 years ago.

Why do you recommend the Bufab trainee program for newly graduated?

For all graduates I would recommend getting exposed to real problems and solutions at the very beginning of their careers. Being part of a fast-growing, maturing, and flat organization like Bufab allows exactly this, and in turn, allows you to acquire the skill set you will need for future career development.
